Medical grooming: Ingrown nails and matted fur

Before, with matted fur. After shaving and nail clipping.

Nikita’s owners noticed a growth on her paws. At the Medical Grooming Centre, she was presented with ingrown nails and matted fur.

Under the guidance of Dr Esther, we gave Nikita a quick shave down, and removed her ingrown nails that had been causing pain and infection as the nails were digging into the paws.

Nikita is now matt-free and her owner will follow up with us on the update of her skin from the matts as well as the wound from her ingrown nails.

Medical grooming: Skin allergies and infection

Before (left) & After (right)

Tango had skin allergies and skin infection (pyoderma). He came in with itchy, red, flaky skin with pustules and collarettes. Dr Esther diagnosed him with atopic dermatitis with secondary pyoderma. Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory, chronic skin disease associated with allergies (which can be due to environmental allergens like grass and dust mites).

Initially, Tango’s bacterial skin infection was resistant to many antibiotics. After Dr Esther started him on a more appropriate and safer treatment, his skin condition improved greatly. He is happy and well today!

Tango also used to be deemed “aggressive” by other vet clinics. Today, he has built a strong relationship with our team at Paws N’ Claws and the Medical Grooming Centre, thanks to our Fear-Free techniques. We are extremely grateful to Tango and his owner for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to treat him.

Medical bath: Fur loss and itch

Togi was presented with itchiness and alopecia (fur loss). Her owners decided to try out medical baths, because Togi’s skin issues were not getting any better even with previous injections.

Togi has been coming to us every week for medical baths. Her owners noticed her itch is much better now. The bacterial infection in her skin is gradually reducing.

Our medical bath package includes skin assessments every visit to check on how your furbaby is improving. We may alter the treatment plan according to your pet’s needs.

Togi loves eating the dehydrated treats while soaking in the bath! We wish her a speedy recovery.

Medical bath: Fur loss, allergies, infection

Dudu was presented with alopecia (fur loss) and had multiple allergies due to environmental factors. He also had a skin bacterial infection as well as an ear infection so we started treatment for both.

This is Dudu’s second treatment and his owner has observed Dudu is less itchy now. We hope to continue his treatment plan and will keep everyone updated on Dudu’s progress.

Basic grooming

Before (left) & After (right)

Cotton has no skin issues, so she just needed a basic groom to clean, tame, and tidy up her fur.

We offer not just medical grooming but also basic and full grooming by a certified pet groomer.

Rabbit grooming

Floof came in for a grooming session and went home with a fresh new haircut! She was so relaxed, comfortable, and happy exploring the area. Floof’s owner said: “She is normally aloof but I guess she felt at home in your centre. 😆”

We are glad that Floof had a great time here! All our groomers are Fear-Free aligned; we do not push any procedures if pets show discomfort or are stressed out, as we want their grooming experience to be positive and we work hard to minimise any fear, anxiety, and stress.
